Avocado Oil

I was hired to photograph this now defunct brand of avocado oils to make product shots for their website. I immediately pitched that I take not only the individual photos for their respective product web pages but also add a couple of special images to spice up the website. The idea came to me where the avocados are floating in the air and pouring the pure oil straight into the bottles. Then I came up with the notion of a massive river of oil flowing by a lineup of their bottles. To achieve these effects I used Softimage XSI to model the bottles and ZBrush to sculpt the avocados, the pouring oil and the river geometry that I could later render in Keyshot. In the first image, the main product "beauty" shot with the single bottle surrounded by avocados, the whole ones are real and the sliced one is a 3D render, inserted later because I knew I could never slice one that perfectly and also keep it fresh long enough to finish the photo shoot. Several elements were rendered separately and composited in Photoshop to complete each of these image's looks.
